What footprint does Holosun 509T have?
Holosun 509T is a red dot sight with a unique footprint that operates in the same manner as a footprint produced for the Picatinny rail. The adapters fitting for it are slipped into place and later adjusted with the help of the movable section on the side.

I had ATEi cut and finish a slide to mount this guy and I’m quite happy using it on my G45 as my carry piece. I recommend checking out one of these duders.

I’m a long time Trijicon SRO user and wanted to give Holosun a try. I’m glad I did and very happy with the purchase.
The Holosun is sturdy (Titanium), well made and some great features (circle dot, dot, shack awake, lock out) that is leaps and bounds ahead of the competition.
The biggest reason for my switch, being able to handle a drop and not break the glass like my SRO. I drop my SRO on my shoe from about knee high, and you guessed it, the lens broke.
I’m not hard on my optics but its got to be able to handle normal use and wear and tear even if that’s just a drop on my shoe.

I had to return this because the RMR cut on my zev orion slide had the raised posts that interlock with the RMR for stronger mounting. If you dont have the flat RMR cut or the one that only has the front locating nubs this will not work I was unable to find any mounting plate on the market that could make it happen.

This is a great Red dot just like all holosun RD I love it the only reason it didn’t get a 5 star is because of how it mounts they give you a plate that will fit onto an rmr cut slide but it sits so high that you can’t see your iron sights also I had to do some sanding and it still didn’t sit even. So I sent off my slide to be cut for the 509t and I’d recommend everyone else do the same if you plan on picking this guy up

It was hard to mount. In fact, I had to try it on 3 pistols before one worked. All had the RMR footprint but the mounting screws proved to be either too long and locked up the extractor or too short and wouldn’t secure the mounting plate. After going thru miscellaneous screws, I finally found a combo that worked on my PSA Dagger. The functionality of the sight itself is typical Holosun – fine.
